Insert Table
To insert a table into the document:
- Position the cursor where you want to insert the table.
- From the Insert menu, choose Table.
- In the dialog box that appears, set the options that you want.
- Click the OK button.
The following options can be set:
- Rows
Sets the number of rows (horizontal cells) in the table.
- Columns
Sets the number of columns (vertical cells) in the table.
- Specify Width
If checked, sets the width of the table. The value you enter can either be either a percentage or a pixel value. You can change type of value you want to use by checking either Set in Pixels or Set in Percent.
- Rules
Specifies which rules will appear between cells within the table.
- Sides Visible
Specifies which sides of the frame surrounding the table will be visible.
- Alignment
Specifies the position of the table in relation to the surrounding content.
- Cell Padding
Specifies the amount of space between the border of the cell and its contents.
- Cell Spacing
Specifies the amount of space between the border of the cells and their contents.
- Background Colour
Sets the background colour of the table.
- Border Width
Sets the width of the frame around the table in pixels.
- Border Style
Sets the type of border style for the table. Options include none, hidden, dotted, dashed, solid, double, groove, ridge, inset, and outset.
- Border Colour
Sets the colour of the table's border.
- Collapse Table Borders
When checked, removes the spacing between the borders of individual cells and the main table border.
- Apply Border to all table cells
When checked, applies the table's outer border to all the table's inner borders.
- Table Summary
Provides a summary of the table's purpose and structure.
