Creating Website

With all the knowledge you have gained from the previous chapters, you are now ready to start creating your own website.

Before you begin developing your website, think about what you want your website to look like and how you want it structured. Consider drawing a flowchart of the individual pages you want in your site, and how you want them to be link together. You might like to come up with an idea for the layout of the pages in your website - do you want to start one from scratch or base it on a template included with BestAddress? Look at existing websites to get a better understanding of how they are organised.

When you begin developing your site, start off with only a few pages and expand from there. Make sure that your pages are easy to navigate and do not mislead visitors by ensuring the pages contain the information expected.

These chapters provided you with a general overview of website development using HTML. However, as you will probably be aware, this is only the tip of the iceberg. There are many other technologies out there that you might like to explore including Cascading Style Sheets (covered in the next tutorial), JavaScript and much, much more.

If you are interested in expanding your website development knowledge, there are many free resources available on the Internet, including Multimedia Australia’s website. These online resources can offer valuable advice, ideas and up-to-date on various Internet technologies.
