Internet Tuner
Internet tuner window allow you to change some settings to speed up Internet access.
MaxMTU - set this option to optimize the Dial-Up Modem Connection Speed. The default is 1500 which is good for LAN Networking but if you have a Dial-UP connection to the internet you should set it to 576.
MaxMSS - set this option to optimize the Dial-Up Modem Connection Speed. The default is 1460 which is good for LAN Networking but if you have a Dial-UP connection to the internet you should set it to 536.
TCP/IP receive window size - this setting controls the size of the TCP/IP receive Window. In general, larger receive window work better with high-delay, high-bandwidth data. Default value is 8192.
Specify the default TCP/IP time to live - this setting specifies the default time to live (TTL) value for IP packets generated by the window TCP/IP stack. Default value is 32.
Control the number of TCP/IP connection attempts - this setting controls the number of TCP/IP connection attempts (SYN packets) to be transmitted before timing out. Default value is 3.
Control the number of TCP/IP transmission retries - this setting define the number of transmission retries will be transmitted before the connection is aborted. Default value is 5.
Enable dead gateway detection - this setting specifies whether window should automatically detect and use an alternate gateway in the event of failed gateway.
Enable MTU black hole detection - this setting specifies whether the stack will attempt to detect Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) routers that do mot send back ICMP fragmentation needed messages.
Enable MTU discovery - this setting specifies whether the TCP/IP stack will attempt to perform path MTU discovery as specified in RFC 1191.
Specify the conformance level for IP Multicast - this parameter determines to what extent the system supports IP multicasting and participates in the Internet Group Management Protocol, RFC 1112. Default is set to full support for IP multicasting.
NO support for IP multicasting
Support for sending but not receiving multicast IP datagrams
Full support for IP multicasting
Controls RFC 1323 time stamp and window scaling options - this setting controls RFC 1323 time stamps and window scaling options for TCP/IP packets.
Disable RFC 1323 options
Window scale enabled only
Time stamps enabled only
Both options are enabled
