Video Cropping and Black Bar Removal
If you wish to crop the video output, you may specify the parameters in the Video Cropping section.
Cropping a video is done by providing four parameters
- Cropped width and height
- Position of the cropped picture

Video Cropping allows you to crop the given part of the image and discards the rest.
Black Bar Removal
If you wish to remove the black bars from your DVD, which will reduce the size of the video file then you can do this by selecting the Crop Video parameter and pressing the 'dotted' button.

You will see a dialog like the one shown below.

This screen allows you to specify what part of the DVD you wish the software to use to work out where the black bars are within the video image.
The default is to start 300 seconds (5 minutes) into the film and to sample 60 seconds to video.
You may choose an alternative way to perform the detection, by choosing the Use Title and Chapter radio button
And then specify a Title and Chapter
Press Start to start the detection process.
After the detection process has finished, you should be asked if you want to use the values it found during the detection. These values are the cropping values and if you answer Yes, then they are automatically filled in to the Crop Video values in the main program window. |
