Custom
Custom fields are user definable fields for the things you need to track that we may not have thought of. To setup your user definable fields select the Views menu on the main title bar. Next select User Defined Fields. you will be presented with a list of the fields you have created or the empty list.
To add a new record select the New button.
On the Form enter the name of the field that will act as a prompt. Next select the type of the field you want to display from the drop down list. The options are:
Text is a 40 character test string allowing you to enter anything you wish.
Numeric is a non decimal numeric value.
Decimal is a two digit decimal field for numeric entry only.
Currency is formatted with the dollar sign and having two decimal places.
Telephone Number is preformatted as a telephone number.
Date is preformatted for date entry.
Check the Inactive box if you do not wish to continue to use the field.
Once the field is created it is available in the inventory form to add the data that you need.
On the extras tab you have a tab called User Defined. Whenever you open a record the program searches for new or modified custom fields and adds them to the table for the record you are in. This list allows you to view the available user defined fields. to edit one select the edit button or double click on the custom field you want to edit.
Once open the selected prompt will be displayed as well as a field to enter the data for that custom field record.
