Recipe Ingredient Search
Objective
This function was added to let you search for a particular ingredient or ingredients in recipes.
How to Use
There are two Search Buttons you can select:
Search By Type:
This button lets you select a Recipe Type in which to search such at Entrees or Stews.
First, select the Type of Recipe you want to search by ingredient.
This is done by selecting the Type Of Recipe from the drop down list near the top of the form.
Then enter search word(s), you can enter up to three different ingredients for which to search. Be sure to enter only one ingredient per Text Box.
[Note: If you enter more than one ingredient for the search, an Options Frame will become available which will let you select whether or not the recipe must contain all the entered ingredients or at least one of the ingredients.]
After you have done the steps above then click Search By Type Button. If the search lists one or more recipes Click Recipe desired and then click button at bottom of this panel to view the recipe or just double-click on the recipe you desire to view.
Search All Recipes:
This button will search the entire recipe database looking for matches of the words you have entered.
[Note: You do not have to first select a Type of Recipe to use this button.]
After you have done the steps above then press click Search All Recipes Button. If the search lists one or more recipes Click Recipe desired and then click button at bottom of this panel to view the recipe. Or just double-click on the recipe you desire to view.
[Note: When a search is done, the search looks for the first occurrence of the search word and will list the recipe with that word. Example: If you were to put ham as the search ingredient, any recipe with hamburger will also be listed. This is because the search is just looking for ham in the ingredients. If you put in ham and a space after it then any recipe with ham or words that end in ham, such as graham will be found because is ends in ham and a space. However, if you desire to only look for ham then put a space before ham and a space after ham and only recipes with ham will be listed.]
Grid Options - the Grid has the following options and capabilities:
Scroll Bar - if you place the cursor over the vertical scroll bar button and while holding down the left mouse button and then move the scroll bar button it will show the number of the row that is currently at the top of the Grid to help you know where you are in the grid.
Scroll Wheel - If you mouse control has a scroll wheel, place the cursor anywhere over the grid area and then you can use the scroll wheel to scroll up or down the grid.
Sorting of Grid Data - By clicking on any of the top column headers a sort of the data in that column will occur and an arrow will appear indicating whether the sort was in ascending or descending order.
