Home Budget
Objective
This function allows you to enter in monthly budget amounts in a simple to use spreadsheet type grid. Information can be viewed graphically also.
How to Use
When you first enter this function the initial displayed budget will be selected by the current year within the computer clock. To select another year, place the mouse arrow over the down arrow box, click the left mouse button, then select new year by using the mouse.
How to use the Input Box - after selecting the desired Column and Row, enter new or updated data in this box, then press the Enter key to enter it in the budget grid.
Copy(Yr) Button - allows you to copy the currently displayed budget to the next year, thus reducing the amount of data entry required to create a new budget from an old one. A confirmation box will first appear before any action is taken.
Copy To Right Button - reduces amount of entry time by copying the data in the current Column and Row to the Right until the end of that Row is reached. Totals are then updated.
Delete Row Button - deletes currently selected row, if desired. A confirmation box will appear, first.
Print Button - sends displayed budget to the Windows Printer. Font Size is automatically set based on whether you select portrait or landscape page orientation.
Save Button - saves the currently displayed budget.
Totals(Yr) - if there are at least two budget entries this button will cause a graph to appear which displays current budget information in a graphical style.
Grid Options - the Grid has the following options and capabilities:
Click and Drag a row of data to another location. This is done by first placing the cursor over the box on the left side of the row you desire to move and clicking the left mouse button and then while holding down the mouse button - move the cursor to the new location and then release the mouse button. The box on the left side will turn darker to indicate the row being moved.
Scroll Bar - if you place the cursor over the vertical scroll bar button and while holding down the left mouse button and then move the scroll bar button it will show the number of the row that is currently at the top of the Grid to help you know where you are in the grid.
Scroll Wheel - If you mouse control has a scroll wheel, place the cursor anywhere over the grid area and then you can use the scroll wheel to scroll up or down the grid.
Sorting of Grid Data - By clicking on any of the top column headers a sort of the data in that column will occur and an arrow will appear indicating whether the sort was in ascending or descending order.
