Banned
On this tab page are located controls for editing of Duplicate File Remover Pro Banned items, also known as moving rules for unwanted (banned) files.
Duplicate File Remover Pro scan all incoming files for items, that you dislike, or don't need, and delete or just don't process that files (or archives), in which such items were found.
How banned items work? Imagine, that Duplicate File Remover Pro view in files, that it process, all readable content. If it will find a banned phrase in one of files, such file will be deleted. For example, if Duplicate File Remover Pro will process archive with "boot.patch" file in it or web page with phrase "boot.patch" in it's content, then, according to banned items list, shown on the picture lower, such files will be deleted. All information about files, deleted in such way, is shown on "Realtime information" tab page of Duplicate File Remover Pro main window.
To set up your banned items, open in the main Duplicate File Remover Pro window tab page "Moving rules" and on it - sub tab page "Banned", as it shown on the picture.

Banned item editor
Banned item editing window consists from 2 fields:
- File extension - here should be defined extension of files, for which this rule will work. For example: "HTML" - for HTML files (such as index.html, last_news.html). Banned rule will not work for files with extensions, that differ from specified. For example, if you will define HTML extension, for such rule will never match files with EXE extension. Note: You can use "*" and "?" wildcards in file extension. For example, if you want favorite rule to work with files of all types and with all extensions, just type asterisk(*). If you want rule to work with all rules, that begin from "r" letter, use r* as extension. Asterisk (*) matches any count of any letters. Question-mark (?) match one letter of any type.
- String in file - string, that will be searched in file, it's properties and it's name. If this string will be found in file, such file will be considered as banned, and will be processed as file with banned content (deleted or ignored). After you will finish banned item editing, just press "OK" button to apply changes.
Example
You may set file extension to "temp" and string in file to "data". According to such rule, Duplicate File Remover Pro will consider banned and will delete files "data640.temp", "XData_687687.temp" and "DATA_FILE_TX_BAK.temp", cause all this files have "temp" extension and have text "data" string in name. |
